October, 2002 Prayer Letters

Chris and Eileen as they arrive safely in Russia.

Dear Friends

We made it here to our apartment in Ufa about 2 pm Ufa time (3 am Central time in USA) yesterday afternoon (Oct 21st).  All of our luggage arrived safely (always a miracle when nothing is missing!) and our friends met us at the airport and helped load the luggage/kids & then carried all of the luggage up 5 flights of stairs in our apartment building.  The kids' nanny (Alphia) also had done an excellent job getting the apartment ready and also had bought groceries for our first few meals.

So our transition was rather easy, except for not sleeping well the past few days in Moscow because of the difference in time (9 hours, now it's a difference of 11 hours here in Ufa).  Eileen and I are very tired and probably will be for several days until we and the kids sleep better at night.  So ask folks to pray for us all to deal with the physical discomfort in a godly manner and to have clarity in our thoughts and speech as we take care of very important initial arrangements such as registration.

Our housekeeper (Ola)will be starting to work with us again on Wednesday and we hope to be fully involved in ministry again within a week or two.

The children all did quite well during the long plane ride from Tulsa-Chicago-London-Moscow-Ufa.  We definitely felt the power of God released because of folks' prayers back in the states.

We hope to get back in the habit of sending out email updates twice a
month so that folks know how to be more focused in their prayers on
behalf of God's work thru us in Bashkortostan.

Thank you for your friendship and prayers.
