June, 2003 Prayer Letters

 June 30

Thanks for your wonderful ministry of assistance to us and the work here. Praise the Lord that two folks became believers recently.

Pray for Larry and Josie Moon as they participate in an evangelistic children's camp July 3-12 here in Bashkortostan.

Pray that many children will open their hearts and lives to the good news of Jesus during the camp. Pray for our team as we continue to seek God's leading for a more systematized approach to our evangelism and training efforts.

Pray with us that the Lord blesses the editing work of the raw footage and photos that were taken.

Pray that the advocacy tools which are being developed will be used of the Lord to mobilize hundreds and even thousands of believers to join us in prayer and personal involvement to reach the 99.8% of Bashkortostan that has not yet been fully exposed to the good news of Jesus
Christ.

Be sure to check our website (www.hope4ufa.com) in coming weeks as much new material will be posted.

Blessings to you all!
Chris

Dear Friends,

Wanted you to know that the Moons were finally able to get their visas registered today.  They can stay here at least until the end of August.  Keep praying that we find a solution to our visa situations, as we may have to address this issue again at the beginning of September.  Praise the Lord with us for His goodness and providential care in our lives!

Chris

  Dear Friends,

Thank you for your prayers!  We appreciate you all very much, and highly value your important part in this work.

Sincerely,

Chris & Eileen Carr

1. Please continue praying for the visa situation for Larry and Josie Moon. We will be attempting on Monday to meet with officials to determine what other options exist to get the Moons registered here in Ufa.  Pray for favor with local officials, that all involved continue to be patient and seek God's wisdom in this matter.

3. Pray with us that the Lord would open the hearts of Southern Baptists across the USA to give more sacrifically than ever, through the Cooperative Program and the Lottie Moon Christmas Offering for Int'l Missions.  You may have heard that there have been some difficult decisions made to restrict the number of new appointees through the Int'l Mission Board, in addition to terminating many positions in the home office in Richmond, along with other belt-tightening actions.    God has blessed tremendously in the past few years with record numbers of new missionary appointees...however, financial support has not kept up with the unbelievable growth of new mission personnel serving thru the IMB.   How sad it would be if the IMB has to
continue to put appointments on hold because of a lack of funds.  Southern Baptists have been so blessed by the Lord, to the point that over $9 billion dollars passed through our SBC churches last year.  Unfortunately, only a quite small percentage of those funds were earmarked for support of mission work thru the IMB.  As a former pastor of 3 different SBC churches, I implore those of you who are Southern Baptist to look beyond your local needs and see the more massive global need to finish the task of taking the good news to the remaining unreached people groups of the world.

Thank you for your prayers and sacrificial support of God's work in Bashkortostan!

Chris

Dear Prayer Warriors,

Greetings!  Two items for you here today.  The first one is urgent!

I was informed by Chris this morning that Larry and Josie Moon are having great difficulty getting their Visa's registered.  This is potentially a very serious problem, which could result in them not being able to serve in country!  It is most urgent that we lift this situation before the Throne of God.  Please pray that Larry and Josie will find favor with the officials and that their Visas will be registered.

From Chris:  "For some reason, the registration office is choosing to ignore federal law and not register their visas which were issued by the Russian Federation...we are still researching and determining options.  Pray, pray, pray!"

 2nd Item:

What I normally send you out is the prayer letter from Chris and Eileen Carr.  Larry Moon is also part of the team in Ufa, and he writes a prayer/newsletter also.  His letters tend to contain considerably more information.  We want to be sensitive to not overload you, so here is the deal...If you would like to receive Larry and Josie's newsletter, would you send me a request and I will put you on a special mailing list.  You can, of course, cancel the newsletter at any time.

As always, we are so thankful for your prayers!

 Sincerely,

 Jeff Anderson
