January, 2002 Prayer Letters

Dear Praying Friends,

We went to have an ultrasound yesterday in Tulsa to check the progress of the twins.  During the procedure, the technician was able to show us both of the babies' hearts pumping normally, brains developing normally, etc.  We were able to clearly see that two more boys will join the Carr family in the near future!  Now Heather will have four brothers to look after her as she gets older.

Chris will be flying to Moscow on Jan 18, and then to Cyprus for field meetings Jan 20-25.  He will return to Moscow on Jan 25 and then to Ufa on Jan 26.  Pray for safety during the times of travel, and for God's sustaining grace as Eileen remains at Chris's dad's house to care for Nathan, Timmy, and Heather.  The boys will be in childcare at church on Mondays and Wednesdays, and Heather will join them on Wednesdays.  Also, a family member will help Eileen care for the children on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays.  Chris will return to Tulsa on Feb 19.  During the month he is away, he will be catching up on the happenings in Ufa and Bashkortostan as well as moving the household goods to a new apartment in southwest Ufa.

Thanks for standing with us in prayer for our family and for the peoples of Bashkortostan!

I took the attached  pictures in Cyprus .  I walked alongside the Mediterranean Sea  one morning  collecting seashells, and thinking to myself: "what an honor, to walk on the island where Paul, Barnabas, and John Mark ministered on Paul's first missionary journey!"  I had a wonderful time of worshipping and praying as I walked on that seashore...

Chris,
