Greetings in the name of Jesus
from Ufa! We thank the Lord daily for His blessings and watch care over
our lives. We are thankful to Him for the safe arrival of Larry and Josie
Moon, new members of our ministry team, who arrived last month. They are
both involved in full-time language study, and soon they will begin to
participate in various ministry projects.
Here are some ways you can continue to pray for the Lord's work here:
1. Pray for a Valentine Day party which we will host this week. It
will be an opportunity to show how we as Americans celebrate the holiday,
complete with games, food, singing, sharing of traditions, and explanation
of what real love is all about (1 Cor. 13), etc. Pray that the Lord
blesses this time of celebration and truth-sharing, that He would reveal
Himself in a very personal way to each participant, so that saving faith
will be the result. We expect up to 15 different students to come to the
party.
2. Pray for the Moons as they study Russian language; pray for them
to develop a balanced approach to life and work here in Bashkortostan.
They are already confronting culture-shock issues that are normal but very
difficult for the average American to deal with.
3. Pray for our team as we depart next week to Moscow and then on
to Cyprus for an annual meeting. Pray for our safe travel, help
with our 5 children, a relaxing time within the framework of a working
vacation, etc.
4. Pray for a very important upcoming evangelism training
conference to be held in Bashkortostan April 1-4. Pray that all the
logistical issues come together (printing of materials/shipping,
participation of key ministry partners, etc) and that the Lord would give
each participant a vision of how many bible study groups and new churches
they envision starting within the next year as a result of the training.
Wade and Barbara Akins will be leading the conference.
5. Pray for Chris as he prepares toward a trip to Prague (Czech
Republic) in March for training in urban missions ministry. Pray that the
Lord opens his eyes to see how to better evangelize this mega-city of 1.1
million individuals, which is 99.9% lost without a saving knowledge and
relationship with Jesus Christ.
6. Pray for the small bible study group that has been meeting for
several weeks in our apartment...Satan is strongly counter-acting the
desire of one of the participants because of family opposition. Pray that
participants be willing to pay the price to be a follower of Jesus and
continue the studies together.
7. Pray for us as we begin to do Friday evangelism work after our
return from Cyprus next month. Pray for the Lord to show us where to
share the gospel so as to start new self-reproducing bible study groups.
Thanks for your faithful intercession and the part you play on our
ministry team!
Blessings to you-
