"The Ufa Children's Fund was created in 1999
and now has three people working for the Fund. The Fund is located in
Bashkortostan and works among ten to fourteen orphanages and boarding
schools each year. The goals of the Fund: to render material, moral,
and spiritual help to children and orphans of the orphanages and boarding
schools of Bashkortostan, and also to graduates of the orphanages.
During the past nine years the
Fund has accomplished numerous projects such as remodeling of
bathing facilities, orphanage sauna rooms, laundry rooms, bathrooms, the
construction of a mini-bakery, fine arts studio, computer classroom,
pottery workshop, hair salon workshop, auto repair shop, sensory/tactile
room, and a room psychological unloading for children and orphans in
children's homes and boarding schools. The Fund has also helped two orphan
girls to have complicated and expensive operations. For all these nine
years The Fund repeatedly delivered to children's homes and boarding
schools medical and hygienic supplies, footwear and clothes, sports
equipment, sewing and washing machines, school supplies and miscellaneous
goods, video-cameras, tape recorders, cameras, lawn-mowers and other
useful equipment.
The Fund enlists volunteers and receives teams of
cross-cultural believers wishing to visit the children's homes.
The
Fund spiritually, morally and financially supports students and former
graduates of the children's homes. We advise them on various questions
from household to legal issues. We are praying and laboring over the
question of adaptation of children back into society.
Meetings and
fellowship evenings are held with graduates of the orphanages. The
Word of God is provided to everyone by giving them Bibles and
Christian literature. Almost all young people who are friends of our
Fund, have become believers. We visit children who have to go to the
hospital and we advise children on numerous questions; we enable them to
have time to use computers.
The
British charitable organization Child Aid has supported our
administrative expenses for several years. At the present
moment, it is not possible for Child Aid to continue supporting us.
In order to further to continue this, in our opinion, very necessary work,
we are compelled to address everyone for their help. If in your hearts
there is a desire to support the work of our Fund, to become a partner in
service to orphans, we ask you to address our friend Chris Carr at the
