Summer Camp Report from Victor and Susan Bauer
Summer Camp Report from Zhenya (one of camp directors)

Greetings from Ufa, where we are experiencing the last warm temps of a thankfully moderate summer.

Last weekend we finished up a really neat Int’l World Changer project that saw 66 young people come to Ufa. They divided up into three service/ministry groups and did service projects such as painting all the windows and doors on an entire floor of a rehab clinic, transforming a littered city park into a pristine area of beauty and relaxation, and playing sports (volleyball, soccer, basketball, and American baseball) with local Ufa youth and young adults in two different city-provided locations,

They served at a summer youth camp (along with TeamUfa’s Victor and Susan Bauer) where they cleared trees and brush/washed dishes/played sports, and overall had multiple opportunities to testify to the goodness and grace of God.

There was daily morning worship in a summer beer tent (interesting setting!) outside their hotel, times to share faith and fun with new friends, and an impromptu farewell concert in the street outside the hotel on Friday evening that attracted quite a crowd from the nearby park.

A positive impact was made on the city based on the positive comments from all who had contact with the group.  At least one person was born again at the camp, and we believe one of the local young adults also repented.  We will be following up with that person among others who were drawn by the excellent witness of the World Changer group.

Thanks for praying with us and for the group, for their safety and strategic witness they lived out in front of hundreds of Ufa residents.

Pray for the group, as many of them expressed that the Lord either began or confirmed and deepened a call to cross-cultural mission service as a result of serving during the volunteer trip to Ufa.  Pray for local Ufa believers who joined in and participated in the project, bringing Ufa youth and young adults to hear the good news and play sports.

The city of Ufa should be proud and thankful for the positive moral and ethical influence these American youth had on the city and for the fact that they conducted themselves as good citizens and role models as tourists and cultural exchange agents.  We know that we are proud of them!  We are especially thankful for the godly examples they set in sharing the hope and good news of God’s love and forgiveness and salvation through Jesus!

We will provide some more details in the coming days to help guide your prayers.  For now, rejoice with us in God’s goodness in the way He obviously blessed and worked through the wonderful example of youth and young adults who served as God’s spiritual warriors!  Pray for the salvation of the Ufa youth and young adults with whom we continue to have contact!

Blessings,

Chris Carr
